KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police have identified the woman who was shot and killed early Saturday, but have not yet taken a suspect into custody.

The Kansas City Police Department said officers were dispatched to the area of E 35th Street and Prospect Avenue around 1:30 a.m. on June 14.

When officers arrived, witnesses pointed them to a gas station parking lot where three men and one woman had been shot. One man suffered critical injuries and two had non-life-threatening injuries, but KD said the woman died at the hospital. She was later identified as 34-year-old Monique K. Smith.

Another shooting was then reported in the 2000 block of East Linwood Boulevard and later determined to be related to the first. Police found a fifth victim, a man, and paramedics took him to an area hospital with critical injuries.

KD does not currently have anyone in custody. The shootings are under investigation as a homicide, and detectives are looking for anyone who might have seen or heard something.

Anyone with information is asked to homicide detectives directly at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline anonymously at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information submitted anonymously to the TIPS hotline.
