Blue Springs native takes no-hitter into 6th in MLB debut

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (KCTV) - Blue Springs native Jacob Misiorowski took a no-hitter into the sixth inning in his first Major League start.
Misiorowksi, a Grain Valley High School alum and one of the top pitching prospects in the Milwaukee Brewers’ system, made his debut Thursday night and gave up no hits through five innings.
The 23-year-old struck out five St. Louis Cardinals hitters and earned the win. He became the ninth pitcher since 1901 and first in Brewers history to throw five no-hit innings in his MLB debut, ing Kansas City Royals lefty Noah Cameron, who did the same in late April during his debut appearance.
Throughout his debut, Misiorowski showed off his elite fastball, touching 100 miles per hour on each of his first three pitches of the night and on 11 of his first 24, according to Statcast. Misiorowksi was called up by Milwaukee after going 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA in the minor leagues this season.
He left the game in the sixth inning due to what the Brewers said was leg cramps. In the seventh inning, the Brewers’ bullpen gave up the team’s first hit of the night. Still, Milwaukee won 6-0 and Misiorowski improved to 1-0 in his MLB career.
The 6-foot-7 right-hander was drafted in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft, 63rd overall, by the Brewers after attending Crowder Junior College in Neosho, Missouri.
