Wednesday comes in spicy! Hottest day so far this year
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Here comes the summer heat, and it is about time. The hottest day we have had so far in 2025 is 87, which we have hit twice (June 1 and May 14). Typically, we have already seen 90s, with the end of May being the average first round of 90s. Wednesday’s high of 90 looks to be the hottest so far this year, and a sign of the more summery weather that is going to become more common moving ahead.
WEDNESDAY: A great morning with mid-60s and sunshine, turning hot and more humid for the afternoon. Highs hit near 90 with a heat index as high as 96. Partly cloudy with a slim 20% rain chance and south winds at 5-10 mph.

THURSDAY: More clouds and not as hot with highs in the mid-80s, though humidity will be a touch higher. A few spotty afternoon showers bring a 30% rain chance.

FRIDAY: Highs in the mid-80s with partly cloudy skies and a 30% rain chance, with the best odds around lunch time.
FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND: Hot and humid with highs in the mid to upper 80s and a heat index from 90 to 95. Plans look great for much of the weekend, with rain chances low at 20%.
