KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police Department says another pedestrian has been hit by a car while walking on a highway.

According to the department, the critical-injury crash happened shortly after 9:30 p.m. on June 10.

A pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was walking in the second lane of westbound Missouri 210 Highway when a gray Chevrolet Trax hit them from behind. KD said the driver immediately stopped and stayed to cooperate with police.

The driver was uninjured, but the pedestrian suffered critical injuries. They were taken to an area hospital where they remain in critical but stable condition, KD reported.

An investigation is ongoing.
