Judge hits one of longest home runs in Kauffman Stadium history

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Last season’s American League MVP debate centered around a pair of players who suited up Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

This season, New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge has outpaced Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., and stands as a heavy favorite to take home the award once again at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

On a night many Royals fans arrived at the ballpark hoping to see a tape-measure blast from new Royals slugger Jac Caglianone, it was instead the Yankees’ MVP who provided the power. Judge improved his MVP resume with one of the longest home runs in Kauffman Stadium history.

The titanic blast came during the first inning of the first game of a 3-game series between the Royals and Yankees.

Judge hammered a 2-0 fastball from St. Joseph native Noah Cameron for a 469-foot home run that landed on top of the Royals Hall of Fame building in left field. It was Judge’s 24th home run of the season and improved his batting average, which entered Tuesday night at .396.

According to MLB’s Statcast data -- which dates back to 2011 -- Judge’s 469-foot blast ties for the sixth-longest home run in Kauffman Stadium history.

The home run tied former Royals designated hitter Kendrys Morales and traveled a foot further than Witt Jr.’s longest home run at Kauffman Stadium.
