KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jac Caglianone has now made several moves in less than a month. The Kansas City Royals top prospect spent two weeks in Triple-A -- and just one of them in Omaha, before getting the promotion Royals fans had greatly anticipated.

That promotion came with Caglianone ing the Royals for a week-long road trip to St. Louis and Chicago. So when he returned to Kansas City and had his first off-day in a new city, he filled it with two things: finding a place to live and finding the next best baseball card for his collection.

“I looked around for a place to live,” Caglianone said, before adding he also visited the Art of Sports, a card collection and memorabilia store in Leawood. “Just chill all day.”

Caglianone went 6-for-25 during his first week in the MLB. Following a 4-hit game during the road trip finale Sunday against the White Sox, he said he was more excited to make his debut at Kauffman Stadium than make his MLB debut.

“It’s home,” Caglianone said. “Hopefully I’m going to be here for a long time.”

Royals manager Matt Quatraro was complimentary of the 22-year-old’s first week in the MLB.

“We saw this on the road. Everybody’s excited to see Jac play,” Quatraro said, calling what the Florida product did in the minor leagues unique. “I mean, we are too. You know, it’s very unprecedented to have a guy here as quickly after his draft class, to be up here and helping produce. But at the end of the day, we brought him up because we think he can be a contributor to a winning baseball team.”

While Caglianone deals with his adaptation to MLB play, he’s doing so while getting accustomed to the spacious outfield at the K.

“We thought he looked really good in the few attempts that he had so far,” said Royals general manager J.J. Picollo of Caglianone, who split time between right field and designated hitter during his first week in the MLB. “I think right now you watch him go after the ball, he’s playing a little cautious, which is better than being overly aggressive.”

Caglianone, an avid baseball card collector, said he pulled an All-Star Cole Ragans card and a rookie card of second baseman Michael Massey. But did he get his own card, one highly sought after by collectors?

“I did not,” he said with a smile and chuckle.
