Picture perfect summer day, surge in heat & humidity looms
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Today will be the last of comfortable humidity values, as summer returns in full swing Wednesday. Get ready for feels-like temperatures in the low to mid-90s. Plus we have a First Warn in place for scattered rain and storms Friday.
We hit the ground running and will be flirting with the 80s by lunch. Sunshine will continue throughout the day with a little bit of haze possible. High temperatures reach the mid to upper 80s across the area.
The rest of the week gear up for hot and humid conditions and a few rain and storm chances.
WEDNESDAY: Partly cloudy, warm, and humid. Morning temperatures mirror average levels, middle 60s. Highs warm to near 90° with heat index values, what it feels like, near 96°. This will likely be the hottest day so far this year. We haven’t reached 90° yet this year.
THURSDAY: Partly cloudy with a 30% chance for showers. Highs will be slightly cooler in the mid-80s, but with humidity will likely feel like 90°.
FRIDAY: First Warn in place for scattered 40% chance for rain and thunderstorms. At this time, they look to be along I-70 and south. High temperatures remain in the mid-80s but could feel like the low to mid-90s.

SATURDAY: Partly cloudy, lower chance for showers, 30%. Highs in the mid-80s with low to mid-90 ° feels-like temperatures.
SUNDAY: Father’s Day is drier and warmer, middle to upper 80s. Feels-like temps to reach the mid-90s.
