Police search for shooter who damaged vehicles at Lawrence apartment building
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - Police in Lawrence have asked for the community’s help to find a shooter who damaged several vehicles outside a party in South Lawrence over the weekend.
The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department asked on Tuesday, June 10, for the community’s help to solve a weekend shooting at The Connections apartment complex.
LKPD said officers were called to the area of 31st and Ousdahl Rd, around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7. More than a dozen shell casings were collected in the parking lot outside a unit where there was an ongoing party.
Law enforcement officials noted that while no people were injured by gunfire, several cars outside were damaged. Several witnesses were spoken to, but when they heard the gunfire, most ran for their own safety and were unable to see the suspect.
Investigators indicated that the suspect has been described as a black male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-8, with a thin build, who had been wearing dark clothing and a red backpack.
Anyone who saw the shooter or has information about what happened has been asked to call the Crime Stoppers of Lawrence and Douglas County at 785-843-TIPS. Any information that leads to an arrest could be eligible for a reward.
