KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Local authorities have attributed speeding to a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, around 8:45 p.m. on June 9, a motorcyclist on a black and white Harley-Davidson was headed east on Gardner Avenue as a Peterbilt semi-truck was turning left from Bellefontaine Avenue.

Halfway through the semi-truck’s turn, the motorcyclist hit the side of its trailer, sending both the motorcycle and the driver underneath. Both were run over by the semi-truck’s rear tires.

The motorcyclist died at the scene and has not yet been publicly identified.

KD said an investigation into the crash is ongoing, and noted this as the 31st fatal crash of 2025, as compared to 47 at this time last year.
