4-year-old boy hospitalized after pothole ejects him from ATV

KNOB NOSTER, Mo. (KCTV) - A young boy was hospitalized Monday after he was involved in an all-terrain vehicle crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 8 p.m. on NE 500 Road, north of Knob Noster.

A 9-year-old boy was reportedly driving a Honda Fortrax ATV on the road when he hit a pothole, ejecting a four-year-old enger. The child was seriously injured and taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital for treatment.

MSHP noted that neither child was wearing safety gear.
