RAYMORE, Mo. (KCTV) - A Raymore man who planned to do something “very vicious” has been charged after he held up a local business with a power drill.

Cass County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Friday, June 6, indicate that Bryan J. Mullins, 39, of Raymore, has been accused of attempting to hold up a local business with a power drill.

A probable cause statement filed by the Raymore Police Department revealed that on Thursday, law enforcement officials were called to a local business after a panic alarm was pulled. When they arrived, they spoke with two employees who reported Mullins had arrived at the business in a pickup before he purchased a bag of ice.

After Mullins put the ice in his truck and retrieved a power drill, investigators said he allegedly reentered the business and pulled the tool on employees as he demanded cash. He then attempted to hit another employee with the drill on his way out. He ultimately sped off in his pickup.

Law enforcement officials noted that Mullins was found in his truck in a driveway about a black away from the scene of the crime. He was approached by officers as he attempted to back out of the driveway.

Investigators indicated that Mullins itted he had been at the business, as he appeared to be significantly impaired. During an interview, he also itted to pulling the drill on the employees as he planned to do something “very vicious,” but changed his mind.

Raymore Police noted that a breathalyzer test revealed Mullins’ BAC to be 0.393 - considered to be extremely high, very dangerous and near alcohol poisoning. As a result, he has been charged with attempted robbery, armed criminal action, assault and driving while intoxicated.

An arraignment was held at noon on Monday. As of Monday afternoon, Mullins remains behind bars with no bond listed. No further information has been released.
