Kansas City police identify 23-year-old as victim of weekend apartment shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Police have identified 23-year-old Alejandro J. Meza Jr. as the victim of a Northland apartment building shooting.

The Kansas City Police Department stated that officers were made aware of a shooting report about 11:10 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, in the 3000 block of NE 37th Street.

Law enforcement was made aware that the shooting victim had been taken to the hospital via a personal vehicle and died there a short time later.

KD stated that evidence indicated the shooting likely took place inside an apartment building.

Police said nobody remained at the hospital with the shooting victim, and there was no one to be found at the scene of the shooting.

“Detectives could really use the public’s help with information,” KD stated.
