Keep the umbrella nearby the next several days. Chances for rain between 30%-40% return today and continue through Sunday. Some chances will be more impactful, like Friday’s First Warn and possible Saturday. Latest data shows a better chance for thunderstorms Saturday.

We increased the chance to 30%. Sunday also holds a 30% chance for storms. Sunday’s storms look to impact us late in the afternoon through the evening.

Dry weather and seasonal temperatures begin Monday and continue through Wednesday.

THURSDAY: Cloudy most of the day with scattered sprinkles to light rain showers between 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. A couple hundredths of an inch possible. The lack of sunshine keeps us cool, middle 70s.

FRIDAY: First Warn for showers and storms, 40% chance. The most likely area affected is near the Missouri River and southward. No severe weather expected. Impacts are highest in the morning. The .25-.50″ rainfall could aggravate the Cygnes River and cause it to flood again. Highs remain mild, middle 70s.

SATURDAY: Trending wetter. We increased our chances for showers and isolated storms to 30%. Nothing severe. Highs warm a bit, upper 70s.

SUNDAY: Our fourth consecutive and final day with a chance for showers and isolated storms, 30%, during the late afternoon to evening hours. Also, not expecting anything severe.

Monday - Wednesday: A dry pattern with seasonal temperatures, lows in the lower 60s and highs in the lower to middle 80s. Much better for outdoor activities.
