Shawnee Mission School District providing free summer meals for children

SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) is working to make sure children have access to free and healthy meals while school is not in session this summer.

Summer Lunch Bunch is offered for children ages 1-18. Adults can also buy a meal for $5 in cash. Children do not have to attend a school in the district to get the free lunch.

Lunch Bunch is held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. from June 2 to July 25, Monday through Friday. Lunch Bunch will be closed June 19-20 and on July 4.

The following are the schools hosting Summer Lunch Bunch:

  • Comanche Elementary School
  • Rosehill Elementary School
  • Shawnee Mission West High School
  • Shawanoe Elementary School
  • Westridge Middle School

The program is for dine-in only. Carry-out or grab-and-go will not be available.
