Missouri woman accused of selling meth to children at local school
RIDGEWAY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Missouri woman is behind bars after she was accused of selling methamphetamine to at least one child at a local school.
Harrison County, Missouri, Circuit Court records filed on Wednesday, May 28, indicate that Jennifer Babbick, 35, of Ridgeway, has been accused of selling methamphetamine to children.
A probable cause statement filed by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office revealed that on May 7, a minor reported that on March 15, she had taken Babbick’s child to a dance at school. The child paid for both girls to get into the dance; however, later in the evening, Babbick allegedly attempted to repay her with methamphetamine.
The minor told investigators that this was not the first time that Babbick paid her in narcotics. She itted that she had smoked methamphetamine with Babbick in the past.
As the narcotics exchange took place on Ridgeway R-V School District property, Babbick has been charged with distribution of a controlled substance in a protected location.
Court documents indicated that a warrant was issued for Babbick’s arrest on Wednesday and served on Thursday with no bond allowed. As of Thursday afternoon, she remains behind bars.
A bond hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4. No further information has been released.
