KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Bringing the Kansas City is so big it needs a year to celebrate.

The public is invited to a massive Kansas City Kickoff party. The free community event will take place Sunday, June 22. It will be held from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Aspiria Campus in Overland Park.

There will be live entertainment and lots of food and beverages available. The public will also learn about how the area is preparing to host thousands of fans from around the globe.

There will also be a chance to learn more about volunteer opportunities available during the World Cup in Kansas City.

KC 2026 said the event is open to everyone, whether you’re a super soccer fan or if you’re just learning about the sport.

The first World Cup match in Kansas City is scheduled at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on June 16, 2026.
