Victim 1

Around 10 p.m. on March 26, 2025, the victim told police he met with the suspects to buy a PlayStation 5 they had listed on Facebook Marketplace.

When the victim asked to see inside the box, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a handgun and pointed it at him, demanding his money. The victim complied and gave the suspects $250 in cash, after which they dropped the box and ran. The victim looked inside the box, and there were only shoes.

Victim 2

Just after 10 p.m. on April 14, 2025, the Kansas City Police Department was dispatched to the scene of an alleged armed robbery. There, the victim said he and a witness were waiting in their car to purchase a PlayStation 5 that had been listed on Facebook Marketplace. When two men walked up to the car, the victim assumed they were the sellers and got out.

He told police one of the suspects pointed a gun at him and demanded his cash, promising, “I’ll shoot you on my dead brother.” He gave them his $260 in cash, and they ran.

Victims 3 and 4

KD was called to another report of an armed robbery, this time around 3:20 p.m. on April 30, 2025.

The third victim said he had asked one of the suspects the day before if he would take $230 for the PlayStation 5 listed on Facebook Marketplace. When the suspect agreed, the victim then asked for a video of the PlayStation turned on. The suspect sent two videos, so the victim agreed to meet the next day.

The third victim’s mom drove him and the fourth victim to the meeting place, where they saw the suspects standing on the street with a camouflage backpack. When the victims got out of the car, one of them tried to look inside the backpack, but a suspect said not to do that and grabbed his $230 in cash.

The third victim said the suspects started walking away, so he looked inside the bag and saw that there was no PlayStation. Both victims started following the suspects and told them to come back, but said one of the suspects reached into his pants pocket and threatened to kill them if they came any closer.

Victim 5

The fifth victim recalled reaching out to one of the suspects on Facebook Marketplace after seeing a PlayStation 5 for sale. He told KD he intended to buy it for a graduation present, so he met with the suspects outside a home at noon on May 16, 2025.

When the suspects asked for the money, the victim said he pulled out three $100 bills. As he held the bills in the air to show the blue line and prove to the suspects they were real, one of them poked him in the side with something. The victim said he looked down and saw a Glock handgun pressed to his side and the suspect said, “You got, I’ll shoot your a--.” They took the money and ran.

Apprehension and Arrest

On April 23, 2025, a judge granted investigators a pen trap n trace warrant, allowing them to search for IP address records linked to a suspected Facebook . They were able to acquire a phone number, name and home address through records linked to the IP address.

After the fifth incident on May 16, officers began surveilling the home where the armed robbery occurred. They saw Jones, Logan and three other people enter the home, so officers surrounded it and gave commands for everyone inside to exit. Jones and Logan were taken into custody on 24-hour investigative holds.

That day, detectives were granted a search warrant for the home and a U-Haul truck sitting in the driveway. They allegedly found multiple handguns, the PlayStation 5 shown in the videos to the third victim, and other items that the various victims had described in their s to police.

When questioned, Logan claimed that another suspect who is not currently facing charges and Jones were the ones doing the robberies, and he had attended the first few but was “never directly involved.”

Jones and Logan have t bond review and preliminary hearings scheduled for May 27 and June 16, 2025, respectively.
