KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Anchor Carolyn Long was recognized ahead of her retirement at Sunday’s Royals game in the Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat.

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 18, the only red seat at Kauffman Stadium was dedicated to KCTV’s soon-to-retire evening anchor, Carolyn Long. At the game, a tribute was shown, highlighting Long’s time as a local figure and community leader.

Carolyn has been there for Kansas City at highs and lows, from sports championship wins to the mass shooting at the Chiefs Championship Rally.

Long is a graduate of Kent State University, and she started her journey at KCTV5 as a general assignment reporter in 1996. She leaves a legacy of leadership and commitment to serving the community.
