Man’s death in reported injury accident now under investigation as possible homicide
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police in Kansas City are investigating a man’s death as a homicide after originally responding to a reported injury accident.
The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department said officers were called to the 3700 block of East 51st Street just after 6 p.m. Thursday. The original call was for a reported injury accident.
A man suffering from life-threatening injuries was found at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead later. The man was identified by police as 50-year-old Terry Lindsey.
Originally, KD said its Accident Investigation Unit detectives responded to the scene. Preliminary findings from their investigation revealed the victim to have been struck intentionally by a vehicle, KD said. As a result, homicide detectives are now taking over the case.
Police said a subject of interest was taken into custody and further investigation is pending.
