PRATT, Kan. (KWCH) - Love is in the air in Pratt, with a pilot taking a creative approach to propose to his girlfriend of two years. He plotted a fight path that read, “Will you marry me Taylor?” The pilot, Terry Williamson, wanted to make his proposal unique. For good measure, his girlfriend said “yes.”

Williamson decided to pop the big question to his girlfriend, Taylor Burcham last Wednesday. Instead of getting down on a knee, he took to the skies.

“I wanted (to do) something that was unique, that not a lot of people have done,” Williamson said of using the flight path to spell out the life-changing question.

Burcham, who was at work at the time, said she made her regular check on Williamson’s flight and was shocked by what she saw.

“I wasn’t expecting it at all. It was quite a feat, especially in a plane like this. So that was pretty exciting to see,” she said.

The couple shares a common interest and deep care for aviation. With that, Burcham said the flight path proposal was the perfect way to move their relationship to the next stage.

“Aviation has always played an important role in our relationship,” she said.

That “important role” helped to seal the deal.

Williamson said they’re savoring the moment, but in of planning, they want a small wedding they can enjoy.
