Burglary suspect calls police for help after injuring himself during car dealership break-in, officials say
TYLER, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) – A man trying to break into a car dealership Wednesday night in Texas called police on himself when he got injured, police said.
Police in Tyler, Texas said a call came in from the man who said he needed help because he cut himself on broken glass while attempting to break into a Dodge dealership.
Police said the suspect, later identified as Jeremiah Megallon, 38, hurt himself badly after throwing a rock through a window.
Inside the building, and unable to make his way out, the suspect called police for help.
Megallon was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated before being booked into jail.
The Patterson Dodge dealership said the only damage to their facility was the broken window, which they say will be replaced shortly.
According to a member of the staff, the only thing the suspect managed to steal was candy from the desk of a salesperson.
