NEW ORLEANS (KCTV) - A Kansas City sports reporter who died while covering the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX had Xanax in his system, according to a detective involved in the investigation.

Colbert wore shackles and an orange Jefferson Parish Correctional Center jumpsuit during the court appearance.

A detective also testified investigators found drugs in Colbert’s home. meanwhile Colbert acknowledged she was the woman on video with Manzano, according to investigators. She denied using his credit card.

During Tuesday’s hearing, Colbert’s defense attorney said Manzano was consuming alcohol the night video shows him with his client. He went on to say Manzano could have gotten drugs fro manyone on Bourbon Street. He also pointed out video doesn’t show who gave Manzano the drugs allegedly found in his system.

Manzano’s body was found in his hotel room near the New Orleans airport just days before Super Bowl LIX. He was there covering the Kansas City Chiefs for Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports.
