TOPEKA, Kan. (KCTV) - Family and friends gathered to a Kansas City sports reporter killed earlier this month.
A funeral mass for 27-year-old Adan Manzano was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Topeka on Feb. 20.

The family released a statement following the service.
Manzano’s death was announced on Thursday, Feb. 6.
He worked for Telemundo KC and was on assignment to cover Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans at the time of his death.
Telemundo described Manzano as a true professional and a rising star who exemplified excellence in his work.
“We will deeply miss Adan and his ion for sports, and the contributions he made to the local community,” said Steve Downing, KGKC Telemundo Kansas City General Manager at the time of Manzano’s death. “Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Police found Manzano’s body in his hotel room near the New Orleans airport. Investigators expect toxicology and autopsy reports to be available in the coming weeks.
His death remains under investigation.
Police arrested 48-year-old Danette Colbert of Slidell, Louisiana the day after Manzano’s death. She is accused of using Manzano’s credit card at several stores in the New Orleans area.
She has not been charged with Manzano’s death.
Colbert is scheduled to be in court again next week.
