KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Chiefs fans were flying out of KCI Airport to the Big Easy on Friday to the team as they try to complete the three-peat.

Fans like Latoya and Larry Wright believe they are a good luck charm, as they’ve seen three Chiefs Super Bowl Championships, including the past two.

“We’re not going to miss this one,” Larry Wright said. “We’re bringing back the trophy.”

He believes the secret to the team’s success begins at the top.

“My favorite individual is the head coach that runs the team, and that’s Andy Reid, that’s my guy,” Wright said. “Chiefs 26, Eagles 24… We could probably win by a few points, and that’s what Mahomes likes to do. He likes to keep it close.”

Emma Jo Blankenship is a country singer who calls Kansas City home. She is also flying to New Orleans, although she has not bought her ticket to the big game yet.

“I’m hoping to maybe find a little gig, go see some live music. I love New Orleans for, of course, the live jazz scene,” Blankenship said. “I’m hoping to that we get some good, exciting Taylor-Travis moments, just because having her in town has been so good for Kansas City, and it’s been just such a fun thing to watch.”

Blankenship has a country song that she sang a cappella for KCTV5 before she got on her plane.

“I like to play it in Autumn, all fall long, while we are in football season,” Blankenship said before singing. “When the boys are in blue, and the boys are in red, you ought to hear the cheers.”
