KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are always looking for doubt and motivation as they continue their march toward history.

But following a 32-29 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, they won’t find any from oddsmakers.

Kansas City, which advanced to its third consecutive Super Bowl and fifth in the past six seasons, is an early 1.5-point favorite over the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Philadelphia advanced to the matchup with a 55-23 thumping of the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game Sunday afternoon.

The matchup between the Chiefs and Eagles is the second between head coach Andy Reid and his former employer in the Super Bowl. Two years ago, Kansas City began its march toward multiple titles in a row with a 38-35 victory over Philadelphia in Super Bowl LVII. That game was played in Glendale, Arizona.

Kansas City was a 2-point underdog against the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII at kickoff. The Chiefs have been underdogs in each of the past two Super Bowls, but were favored in Super Bowl 54 against the San Francisco 49ers and Super Bowl 55 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The next Super Bowl matchup between the two teams, which will be the fifth in the Patrick Mahomes era of Chiefs football, will be played in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, Feb. 9.
