A chase ensued, and then the teen in the Escape, identified as Jeremy Brown, Jr. began shooting at the teens in the other car. One teenager was hit.

In court documents, a detective says he saw two bullet holes in the rear of the vehicle. He said it appears that one went through the inside of the vehicle and through the front seat on the enger side, which is where the victim was sitting.

After the incident, while being interviewed by police, court documents showed that Brown told them he fired up to eight shots. He said that he had not intended to hurt anyone, and that he just wanted to scare them.
