Guilty plea in the death of 9-year-old Nolan Davidson
SHAWNEE, Kan. (KCTV) - The driver of the car that hit and killed a Lenexa boy has pleaded guilty and will be sentenced on January 7, 2025.
The 9-year-old was killed following a car crash on December 1, 2023.
The Johnson County District Attorney’s office reports on Nov. 15, 2024, Matthew Alexander Jacobo, 25, pleaded guilty to reckless murder and leaving the scene of a fatal crash that took the life of 9-year-old Nolan Davidson.
Davidson was in the car with his dad at the time, driving to basketball practice.
At the time of his ing, his family released this message on Caring Bridge:
It is with much sorrow that our family announces the ing of Nolan Davidson this evening. Nolan was surrounded by the love of close family and church at the time of his ing. Our family is hurting but we are finding comfort knowing that Nolan’s spirit left this earth and entered into a life of eternity in heaven. We have also chosen Nolan as a “Hero Donor” in hopes that he can provide a miracle for somebody else in need. Jacobo is listed in jail bookings with a $1 million bond. His next court appearance is set for December 14, 2023.
