KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - An infant suffered serious injuries over the weekend after she was the victim of suspected child abuse.
The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office charged 29-year-old Johnny Bonacorso of Kansas City, Missouri, with child abuse or neglect - resulting in physical injury.

Law enforcement reported that a 3-month-old was taken to Children’s Mercy Urgent Care in the Northland before being rushed to the hospital’s emergency department. The baby was said to have “several bruises, broken bones and was intubated upon arrival” to the ER.
The court document indicated that the baby’s mother had left the child with Bonacorso - her roommate - while she worked overnight on Oct. 4.

After Bonacorso picked the child’s mother up from work the following morning, she tried to feed the infant. When the child wouldn’t take the bottle, the mother began to remove the baby’s clothing and noticed significant bruising and dots on her face, the court document stated.
Bonacorso denied knowing about anything that might have happened overnight.
An exam at Children’s Mercy Hospital reveals two clavicle fractures, a femur fracture, bruises all over her body and several more injuries.
On the afternoon of Oct. 5, law enforcement arrested Bonacorso.
After entering a not guilty plea on Monday, a judge scheduled Bonacorso to appear in court for a bond reduction hearing on Oct. 15.
He was booked into the Clay County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
