KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to be down a few players for Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid announced on Saturday, Oct. 5, that it is doubtful Running Back Clyde Edwards-Helaire will play in the Monday Night Football game on Oct. 7 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Edwards-Helaire had been on the Injury Reserve list since before Week 1 due to complications with an illness. According to Sports Illustrated, he had dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder.

“Really everybody went today. Mecole we have listed as questionable but he practiced the whole practice. Clyde will be listed as doubtful but he had a good week of practice, good to get him back into the swing of things and I believe that’s questionable,” Reid said. “Mike Danna did practice today so – he did good.”

Wide Receiver Mecole Hardman was listed as questionable for Monday’s game. While he participated in a full practice on Saturday, he continues to recover from a knee injury.

“I’ll visit with General Manager Brett Veach but right now I think we’re ok with who we’ve got up at wide receiver there,” Reid noted.

Defensive End Michael Danna participated in limited practices as he recovered from a calf injury until Saturday when he completed a full practice. Linebacker Nick Bolton, Running Back Kareem Hunt and Defensive Tackle Derrick Nnadi had all been recovering from injuries of their own but are also expected to play against the Saints.

Meanwhile, Rashee Rice has been placed on Injury Reserve due to a knee injury he suffered in the Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He is expected to miss at least the next four games.

The Chiefs are expected to kick off against the Saints at 7:15 p.m. in Kansas City. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Royals will also take the field in New York against the Yankees at 6:38 p.m. on Monday.
