KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Fans of the Kansas City Chiefs spent Sunday in St. Joseph as the team kicked off its first full-squad workout at training camp.

As fans enjoyed their first looks at the team, the Chiefs greeted them with a growing list of injured starters. Safety Justin Reid is the latest player to suffer an injury.

The Chiefs placed Reid on the non-football injury list. He suffered a quad issue and is considered to be day-to-day. Head coach Andy Reid didn’t elaborate on the injury, but did say Sunday that he doesn’t have any long-term concerns for the safety.

Jaden Hicks, a fourth-round draft choice from Washington State, took Reid’s place at strong safety with the first-team defense during the first full-squad workout. He played alongside free safety Bryan Cook with Chamarri Conner at nickel back.
