GOODLAND, Kan. (KWCH) - The first 5-star football recruit in 15 years has committed to K-State.

Goodland tight end Linkon Cure made the announcement Monday, choosing the Wildcats over Kansas, Texas A&M and Oregon.

Cure, a 2025 recruit, is the state’s first 5-star since East’s Bryce Brown in 2009.

He is the No. 2 tight end in the Class of 25 and the No. 26 overall player, according to 24/7 Sports.

Cure has visited each of his top four finalists since Memorial Day.

Cure exploded onto the scene as a junior, recording 42 catches for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns this past season.

He also helped the Cowboys to the 3A state title game in basketball, averaging 11.2 points per game. Cure is also a two-time 300-meter hurdles champion in 3A state track and captured gold in the 110 hurdles this year.
