Earlier this month some of the victims of the rally said they were becoming frustrated about waiting for the funding. At that time they said they didn’t know how much longer they would wait to pay mounting medical bills. Others said they hadn’t been able to return to work following the shooting and were running out of money to pay rent and buy groceries.
The United Way said everyone who applied for the KC Strong Fund money needed to be verified before the funds would be paid.
