KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Blue Springs Police Department opened an investigation into pastor and former Blue Springs Board of Education President Bobby Hawk.

A detective said someone ed the department Thursday morning and make claims against Hawk. The department said it cannot disclose the type of claims involved because it involves an open investigation. At this point, the department said detectives are working to determine if a crime happened, and if it did, where the crime occurred.

The department referenced a blog and social media claims of an inappropriate relationship involving Hawk. KCTV5 is aware of claims made by two women. KCTV5 asked the Missouri Children’s Division to confirm a report made in connection with one of the claims. At this point, the state agency has not responded to the request for information.

Hawk resigned from his elected position with the Epic Church KC announced its board of directors decided to place Hawk, the lead pastor at the church, on leave pending further review. The church did not respond to an email for comment or answer phone calls from KCTV5.

Hawk has also not publicly commented on any of the accusations. EPIC Church KC also asked its employees and to allow the process to unfold and not speak to the media or answer any questions, according to a letter posted on its website.

The Blue Springs Police Department is asking anyone with information that may help its investigation into Hawk to call 816-228-0151 and speak with an officer.
