Missouri Gov. prepares for Italy trade mission as Lt. Gov. left in charge
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri’s Governor is preparing for an international trade mission to Italy as he left his Lieutenant Governor in charge.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson announced on Friday, May 17, that Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe will serve as the Show-Me State’s Acting Governor as he leads an trade mission in Italy.
Parson noted that Kehoe will serve as the state’s leader between May 18 and June 4.
“Each time we’ve been overseas, Lt. Governor Kehoe has always dutifully answered the call to ensure state government continues operating efficiently and effectively,” Parson said. “We know Lt. Governor Kehoe offers a steady hand of leadership that Missourians can count on.”
The Governor indicated that the goal of the mission is to build relationships with international leaders to promote Missouri’s strong ability for trade. He will meet with a handful of government officials, diplomats and business leaders to promote the state as a destination for business investment and expansion.
During the trade mission, Parson also noted that the and First Lady Teresa Parton will take personal time for their own private travels once the trade mission concludes on May 25.
