Chiefs draft Defensive Back from Tennessee with history of injury

DETROIT, Mich. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs chose Tennessee’s Kamal Hadden with the 211th pick in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Hadden was given a prospect grade of 5.96 at the NFL Combine with a production score of 71, an athleticism score of 68, and a total score of 72.

The 6′1″ defensive back went to Kansas’ Independence Community College in 2019 with 21 tackles that season an interception and eight breakups. In 2020, the school did not play due to COVID-19.

In 2021, Hadden played in seven games with two starts, including 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, an interception, a breakup, and a forced fumble. He participated in Auburn’s spring practices that season, but then transferred to Tennessee in June.

In 2022, for Tennessee, Hadden tied for the team lead with 2 interceptions as well as 51 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3 breakups, and a forced fumble. He played in nine games and started six of those. He did miss time due to an injury.

In 2023, Hadden led Tennessee with eight breakups. He tied for the team lead with three interceptions with one returned for a touchdown. He started the first seven games with 19 tackles, however, he missed the rest of the year with a shoulder injury.
