Chiefs choose Nourzad in fifth round of 2024 NFL Draft
DETROIT, Mich. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs continue to build the team with a Penn State Center.
The Chiefs picked Penn State Center Hunter Nourzad with the 159th pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday, April 27.
The 6-foot-3 Georgia native led the Cornell Red to second-team in the All-Ivy League and started all 10 games at Right Tackle in 2019. In 2021, Nourzad helped the team grab first-team in the All-Ivy League.
Nourzad, who weighs around 317 lbs, earned an Honorable Mention in 2022 in the All-Big Ten Conference with Penn State. He started in 8 of the 11 games played as a Left Guard.
In 2023, as Center, Nourzad helped Penn State earn second-team in the All-Big Ten Conference and started in all 13 games.
In the NFL Combine, Nourzad scored 57 for production, an estimated 78 for athleticism to bring his total score to 66. He benched press 27 reps at the event.
